MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursue our mission at MSK and around the globe.Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a Biomedical Engineer I to join our Biomed/Clinical Engineering team within Health System Operations. This role supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical devices and healthcare technology across MSK's growing network of clinical locations.Our Biomed/Clinical Engineering team manages more than 41,000 medical devices across 25 sites, including locations in Manhattan, New Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester. This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of medical technologies while supporting patient care, equipment safety, operational excellence, and healthcare technology initiatives.Role OverviewThe Biomedical Engineer I is responsible for supporting the maintenance, preventive maintenance, calibration, testing, installation, and lifecycle management of medical devices and related systems used throughout the MSK network for clinical use to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency. The role combines hands-on technical support, project coordination, vendor collaboration, and healthcare technology management to ensure medical equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational.Support medical device lifecycle management activities and assist fellow engineers in equipment upgrades, recalls, replacements, and inventory tracking and asset management utilization.Assist with the evaluation and testing of medical technologies prior to purchase and implementation.Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and clinical departments to support equipment maintenance and operational readiness.Support project management activities related to equipment installations, upgrades, replacement initiatives, and departmental projects.Support information technology and cybersecurity best practices related to connected medical devices and healthcare technology systems.Communicate equipment-related issues, safety concerns, and operational recommendations to leadership and clinical partners.Key QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.0–2 years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering, clinical engineering, healthcare technology management, medical device support, or a related technical field.Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and related tools preferred.Familiarity with medical device maintenance, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting practices preferred.Experience supporting healthcare technology, medical equipment, or clinical systems is a plus.Understanding of information technology systems and medical device cybersecurity concepts preferred.Core SkillsStrong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Commitment to patient safety, quality, and operational excellence.Adaptability and willingness to travel between MSK locations as needed.Additional InformationSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PMLocation: New York City, Long Island, and/or New Jersey MSK sitesTravel: Regular travel throughout the MSK network, including Manhattan, Long Island, and/or New Jersey locationsReporting To: Biomed/Clinical Engineering LeadershipHelpful InformationCompensation PhilosophyBenefitsPay Range: $83,800.00 - $134,000.00FSLA Status: ExemptClosing: At MSK, we believe in fair, competitive pay that reflects your job, experience, and skills.MSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
