Volunteer Social Media Manager Job at 3 Wheels from Jesse, Shrewsbury, NJ

  • 3 Wheels from Jesse
  • Shrewsbury, NJ

Job Description

Help us tell stories that change lives.

3 Wheels from Jesse is a New Jersey nonprofit that provides electric tricycles to teens and adults with autism and others who cannot safely ride a traditional two-wheel bicycle.

Our organization grew out of our own family’s experience. Jesse could not ride a two-wheel bike, but his e-trike gave him something much bigger than transportation: independence, confidence, freedom, and a way to participate more fully in his community.

We’re looking for a creative, organized Volunteer Social Media Manager who can help us tell those stories, grow our audience, reach potential donors, and connect with individuals and families who may benefit from our programs.

What you’ll do:

  • Turn raw video footage, primarily shot on iPhones, into polished short-form videos using CapCut or similar
  • Apply 3 Wheels from Jesse branding, visual style, voice, and messaging consistently
  • Create content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other appropriate platforms
  • Work with our Fundraising Director to create posts that support fundraising priorities, donor outreach, sponsorships, campaigns, and events
  • Work directly with the President of the nonprofit to identify stories and messages to share
  • Help tell Jesse’s story and the impact his e-trike has had on his independence and everyday life
  • Develop stories featuring other e-trike riders, families, and recipients of 3 Wheels from Jesse
  • Review and organize our existing library of raw video, photos, and previously published social media content
  • Identify older content that can be reused, refreshed, shortened, or edited for new use
  • Catalog footage and past posts so valuable content is easier to find and reuse
  • Help develop a practical social media content calendar
  • Write or refine captions in the organization’s established voice
  • Add captions/subtitles and help ensure video content is accessible
  • Suggest ways to increase engagement, followers, awareness, donor outreach, and connections with potential recipients
  • Review basic social media performance to help us understand what content is reaching and engaging our audience

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience creating social media content for an organization, business, cause, school, or personal brand
  • Comfort editing short-form video
  • Experience with CapCut or similar video editing software
  • Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to turn raw footage into engaging content
  • A good eye for pacing, hooks, captions, graphics, music, and short-form video
  • Ability to learn and consistently follow an established brand and writing style
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small nonprofit team
  • Comfort suggesting new ideas and ways to grow our reach
  • Sensitivity and good judgment when telling stories involving people with disabilities and their families

Experience in marketing, communications, journalism, video editing, digital media, nonprofit communications, or content creation is helpful but not required.

We’re especially interested in someone who lives in or near Red Bank, Little Silver, Shrewsbury, or the surrounding Monmouth County area . Much of the editing and planning can be done remotely, but being local is important because there may be opportunities to attend e-trike presentations, fundraising activities, events, and other moments where capturing photos or video in person would help us tell our story.

We anticipate an ongoing commitment of approximately 5 hours per week . There is also an existing library of raw footage, photos, and social media content from the past several years that we’d like to organize and review. The initial period may involve some additional time as we catalog those assets and determine what can be reused or repurposed.

We’re looking for someone who wants to become part of the organization and help shape the social media presence of a growing nonprofit.
